Landscape design with land use suggestions to facilitate the preservation and access to wild, natural spaces in order to live a more beautiful, peaceful life in balance with biodiversity and nature.
I finished the classroom sign for my daughter’s first grade class. They named themselves The Eaglets.
Gratitude Represented by Hands 2, watercolor on paper, 11 by 9 in. Emilia Kallock 2018
The first painting is an illustration to the following poem from the 1200s by a woman from Antwerp.
Knowing love in herself.
I do not complain of suffering for Love,
It is right that I always obey her,
For I can know her only as she is in herself,
Whether she commands in storm or in stillness.
This is a marvel beyond my understanding,
Which fills my whole heart
And makes me stray wild in a desert.
The other sketch is about control, and the last two are about people coming together to talk about exciting new ideas.

More joie de vivre in parks and plazas in Chile. Most all these sketches are done live of people, and my daughter and her friend playing in these great tree and playground-equipment filled civic spaces. Tree in the Plaza, watercolor and pen on paper, 11 by 9 in. Emilia Kallock 2017

A continued focus on flowers, trees and public parks while I am here in Chile. The following watercolors are observations on the peaceful vibe always felt in the well attended plazas. I also continue fantasizing about park designs which I feel would be like 3-D painting but with living things. The Jacaranda tree and the Bougainvillea vine are currently stealing my heart.

A group of paper studies that may or may not be combined (August 2016) for a larger oil on canvas piece. Him: two expressionist portrayals of masculinity, a few plein-airy documentations of my friend’s houseboat on Lake Union and two immediate outdoor watercolors of skies at midday and sunset (I always have to work fast at dusk).
